Janda Baik, Pahang

I wish I can be here, now!

Janda Baik is another wonderful getaway from havoc living of Kuala Lumpur. Among all streams that we can find around Kuala Lumpur, I have to say Janda Baik is the best so far. A 45 - 60 minutes drive (from Gombak), its really worth once you deep in your feet into the ICY COLD water. Its refreshing, and you can breath in a very clean air. Surrounding by green,  I mean trees, with few kampung houses, makes your eyes mesmerized with the view.

I went there back in October 2009, as I need to do some survey for my department's family day. With my friends, we went there with missions;
  • family day's survey
  • photography session
  • mandi!

However, only mission 1 and 2 were accomplished. Mandi was out from the plan, as we found the river quite shallow, non-suitable for an overweight adults like us! Ahahahah!

Do enjoy our photos!

 One of the resort, shantek!

No words to describe

The photographers! :)

I'll be there again. More than once, of course! :)

Friends Gathering @ Taman Tasik Metropolitan, Kepong

I was looking for a photography session, which is a planned photography session, with people that I know and comfortable to work with. I set my status on my YM, gTalk "photography session for free" (sort of), and then a friend of my from previous company message me that she's interested.

After few time of discussion (online!), we made the "deal".

So, on one Sunday morning, off we go to Taman Tasik Metropolitan (Kepong). The weather was cloudy, but we just went on with the photography.

All of this is just for my portfolio, konon! :)

Me & Photography 1

It started in 2003. Salman, a friend of mine, showed his newly bought digital camera (Canon Ixus) when we visited him and Nono (wife). They just got their first child and he took few pictures of Naim (his son) and my 6 months old Haris. The pictures were nice and adorable, as for the first timer to see his own son pic in digital format! I found it’s very tempting; I shall say having a digital camera is a must as it is more convenience and less cost.

At that moment I just bought a film camera (Olympus). An ancient technology! I have to buy the film, and have to wait until the film finishes it rolls for me to see the photos. The click is limited, up to 36 images per roll. The result might be good and might be not and only can be known after you send it to be developed. But with digital camera, you can see the result immediately, click as many as you want, remove photos that you don’t want right on the spot. The best is, you can set your camera to give output in sephia, black and white and many more.

So, I end up buying one Canon IXUS 40 at one Seng Heng shop with the price of RM 2000! Its damn expensive, if you compare with the price now, of course. But I don’t really care. My intention was to capture the best moments of my family, especially my kids going through their growing years.

It’s a worth buy.

And after months and years, the temptation is growing. The camera is no longer for “family pictures”, the “scope” has been widen to everything around me. Name it trees, insects, buildings, flowers and all. I really enjoy it and then realize that I have found my new hobby, photography.

Air terjun Chilling, Kuala Kubu Bharu

Its hot now in Kuala Lumpur. Few days before, rain has been poured once in a while but it does not reduce the heat much. I was sweating just like when I run on my treadmill, every night when sleeping.

For that, I have a good reason to go to any waterfall to enjoy the cold water running all over your body. Air terjun Chilling is the first that come to my mind. I went there last January, with friends from office.

Here are some pictures taken.

Its damn tempting!

Arghhh! I find peaceful!

Somebody is showing off. Eheheh! But you cant resist to jump down to the pool. Cool!

On our way back

Last deep before went off. Good bye Chilling!

It was a great trip and I always look forward for this type of activities. I love nature, I love to trek, I love waterfalls. But dont ever do like the following;

Love the nature. Dont pollute them! :)

Ehehehe!

Autumn in Malaysia

These pictures were taken during my visit to my brother's house at Sik, Kedah in January 2009. Surprisingly, I never know that rubber field is such a beautiful place during this period.

The entrance.

The blue sky and red leaves. Thats awesome!

Green, yellow, orange, brown, red with blue as background. Love this so much!

Some has losses their leaves

Main source of income for most people in Sik.

Reaching the clear blue sky!

I wish I could come here again in 2010!

Canon Photography Marathon 2008

These pictures were taken in last November 2008. I participated in this event, organized by Canon Malaysia. It was fun. I've learned a lot. There were 3 themes given, but I cant recall any. Eheheh! I was more enjoying myself having the pleasure of photographing the marvelous view of Kuala Lumpur.

Have a look! For more, go to Canon Photo Marathon 2008

Beautiful Terengganu

My job sometimes require me to go for outstation, within Malaysia. One of the project is running at Terengganu, east of peninsular Malaysia. Terengganu is known as a traditional state (for me) and has magnificent places such as islands, beaches and others.

My visit to Terengganu was spent entirely for job. No gap that I can slip away for my leisure visit except at night. Sigh!

However, I managed to photograph on some views using my compact digital camera while I was on the move. Better than nothing! :)
